Buying Argan

Most argan oil based products come from Morocco. Consumers of these products need to be able to verify their authenticity before buying them to avoid buying counterfeits and sub-standard products. Some of the counterfeit products can end up been harmful.
Government Backed Cooperatives
You should buy authentic argon based oil preferably from a reputable trader who will be able to guarantee product authenticity. Where possible, it might be very beneficial to go to the source of the products way back in Morocco, preferably to the cooperative that produced it. Most of the cooperatives dealing in argan oil products are ran by women and are government backed. Getting the right information should not be difficult. It is also a good idea to go for products that are certified as safe cosmetic products.
Roasted or Unroasted
While searching for argan based beauty products, one needs to know about the grades available and their differences. There are two grades of argan oil; cosmetic grade and culinary grade.
Culinary grade has most of the cosmetic rich nutrients destroyed by roasting. Cosmetic grade is not roasted and hence contains all the essential nutrients and natural chemicals required by the skin and hair.
Fragrance
It is worth noting that although the oil contains a scent which may not be agreeable to many people, the scent can be sweetened by adding fragrances. Most argan oil dealers are able to customize the scent to the buyer’s specification.
Effect of Oil Concentration on Price
The price of the product – argan oil – is determined by the concentration of argan on the product. This means that a highly concentrated argan product is naturally more expensive than a product with a low concentration of argan. Since argan products are gaining their popularity as a healthy and natural beauty enhancing products, you should not pay for a product which has a low concentration of it. While looking for a beauty product, if the argan ingredient is placed at the top of the list, it means that it has a high concentration of it, but if it is placed at the bottom, it means that there is less of it hence you should not pay more for it.
Cold Pressed Oils
While choosing an argon product, you should search for one that is labeled first cold pressed which means that it has not been heated over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Oils that have been treated this way retain almost all their nutrients.
Eco Friendly Packaging
Also you should look for one that is packed in a dark, ultraviolet protected glass bottle which is eco friendly and also able to retain its nutrients unlike a plastic bottle. Also you should look out for ingredients in the argon oil such as acetic acid which are known to reduce the oils natural nutrients.
